Crochet Blanket (Purple, Teal, Tan)

So this is my first completed afghan! It's crochet with two yarns at once, making it extra think and warm. It measures roughly 28" wide by 42" long and would make an ideal throw blanket for a small child.


While this blanket is gorgeous, it deserves a home where it will actually get some use... or at least be safe from our cats. To recoup the cost of materials I'm asking just $30.

Scrap Scarf (purple, blue, green)

I wanted to make a scarf that incorporated these three gorgeous shades of yarn. But I'm lazy. I don't want to constantly have to change colors and count rows and weave in ends.


The solution? Take all three yarns, cut each into random lengths and tie them end-to-end. This creates a rustic yet whimsical pattern that has a little extra texture. The best part? No loose ends, literally!


This scarf is about 50" long (plus tassels) and is super soft! It's also light-weight due to the knitting pattern, making it perfect for those cool spring mornings. Just $6!

Homemade Stained Glass Frames

Given my poor track record with soldering (I have a tendency to solder my hair to my work), it's probably better that these stained glass pieces are held together with epoxy glue.


Fashioned from an upcycled picture frame, each piece is different! The one on the left (rainbow) has found a permanent home with us but a similar piece can be made upon request.

The green/champagne/clear frame is just over 5"x7" and is $5.00. SOLD!
The orange/purple/blue frame is 7.5"x9.5" and is $7.00.
The purple/lilac/yellow frame (painted metallic purple) is roughly 8"x10" and is $10.
The dark blue/light blue/clear frame (painted metallic teal) is roughly 8"x10" and is $10.

This Party Monster was a gift to my friend Chas, but I foresee many more Party cousins in the future. His stubby (yet flappy) arms were a big hit.

Recycled Denim Bracelet (Custom)

Since showing off the first bracelet I've gotten several orders. So here are some pictures of another style I've made! Each custom bracelet is made to your specifications (size, colors, etc) and only costs $15.

Recycled Denim Bracelets

I've been dying to re-purpose all of MJ's jeans with tears in the butt and crotch areas. (Yes, he has an amazing ability to seriously damage these specific areas of his pants.) When I came across the suggestion of turning the seams into jewelry I just couldn't resist. Armed with a rotary punch, snap closures and some awesome lampwork beads, I went to work.




This first bracelet is actually a gift for my aunt, Jeannie. But now that I've gotten the hang of this I foresee many more recycled denim jewelry in my future. If you're interested in one for yourself and have a specific bead/color preference, let me know!

Watson the Wobbly: Sock Monster, Unlucky Rabbit

How can a rabbit be unlucky? By having no legs, of course! Nothing is more pathetic that a bunny with no hop in his step. Fortunately Watson has never had legs so he doesn't really know what he's missing.

Despite his obvious impairment, Watson still has a perfectly good set of arms ready for hugging. He also has two pristine ears ready to lend to you in your time of need. Just make sure you bring them back.

Watson is hand sewn from a bright acrylic sock and stuffed with the dreams of a dozen hamsters. His arms have been reinforced with a round of blanket stitching. He's also had a little face work done: a few blanket stitches have given him a permanent smile.

Watson is ready for a loving home for just $15. If yellow with white polka dots isn't your forte, a custom color Watson can be constructed upon request.

DO NOT TAUNT THE CHEF Apron

What do you get when you teach an octopus to cook? A chef that can slap you silly while mincing, sautéing and stirring all at once. For those of us who like to cook but don’t have the extra appendages, maybe this apron will do the trick. 

This logo is hand painted using fabric-permanent paints (the apron in these photos has already been washed and shows no flaking or fading). The apron itself measures 32” wide and 36” long and is 100% cotton and stain resistant. It’s fully adjustable and sports a nifty double pocket on the front.

Samwise of SpamCakes: Sock Monster, Thrill Seeker

Samwise of SpamCakes is a peculiar sock monster indeed. Rocking a classic argyle pattern and sporting somewhat creepy button eyes, it’s unclear if you should love him or hate him. Let’s go with love, because otherwise you won’t buy him. (Face it, the only people who you hate yet still spend money on are relatives.)

Made from a [clean] pair of novelty socks and stitched entirely by hand using a strong crochet thread, a lot of time and patience has gone into making this little guy. Now, after all that hard work, he spends his days trying to avoid the boredoms of everyday life. He longs for excitement and adventure. Honestly, the company of Jekyll and these other sock monsters aren't doing it for him. You can see the disappointment in his face. 

 

Dear Sam would like to come and live with you. He’s already housebroken and gets along well with cats. We haven’t tested him with dogs, but that’s primarily for his own safety. Adopt him today for just $10!

Puffy Pig Plushies

Puffy pig, puffy pig, let me come in.

These little pigs are two thirds of a trio I made for the daughter of a friend (the first one escaped with her before I got a picture). She picked the colors, I made the pigs. Each one measures 3.5" long and 2.5" tall.
